LAND SERVICE FINDS THEIR ROOTS
On Wednesday, 1 March 2023, the Land Service went on an excursion to the organic farm of Timon and Margi Filter.
Two of the loves of Land Service are the love for nature and love for labour. Working in a vegetable garden also reminded us of the love for God as He is the provider of everything while Timon explained that God gifted Adam and Eve with a garden.
We learned the size of the garden needed to sustain a family of five, how to start growing our own food organically and we were able to get our hands dirty by planting cabbage, spinach and lettuce. During Lockdown Margie started a business, Simply Rooted, where she delivers fresh, organic products town.
